13th April - Norman Rossiter
Animal Portraits - Mixed Media, Acrylic/Pastel
About the artist
Norman is a professional artist, living and working in Lincolnshire. His detailed artworks are sometimes referred to as photo realistic, his intention being to capture that single moment in time when nature shows you its true beauty.
About the workshop
The theme of the workshop is Mixed Media - Acrylics and Pastels. Realism.
We will be working on prepared pastel paper, which will be supplied free of charge by Norman. Depending on which images chosen by the artist sizes will be , a) The Kingfisher 12” x 10” or b) The Spaniel 16” x 12”. The artists can use their own reference if they wish.
Norman prefers to work as a paint along, in other words he will give a short demo and talk at the beginning and then start the main piece, then the artists get on with theirs. He will walk around helping and advising, at the same time demonstrating different techniques etc.
Within Norman's workshops he am known for giving a lot of information regarding materials and advice in order (hopefully) to give the artists both something new and the confidence to try different ways of approaching their work.
