10th June - Scott Bridgwood - Contemporary interpretation of figures - Oil / Acrylic
This workshop is for members only and all spaces have now been taken.
How the day will go:
We will start the session with a discussion on what makes a good contemporary figure painting, and discuss artist whose work Scott admires and why.
The group will then produce two charcoal drawings following specific techniques that will Scott will have demonstrated.
Leading up to lunch, Scott will discuss his palette, painting methods and his rationale.
The afternoon will begin with a quick chat with the group and then we will paint using techniques and inspiration learned from the morning session.
What to bring:
Regular willow charcoal
A helix rubber (not putty)
A couple of sheets of A2 (or A1) white paper.
For the painting in the afternoon
Apart from the basics (blue, red, yellow), you will need to make sure you have cerulean blue, plenty of white, yellow ochre and paynes grey.
Please do not to bring a canvas that is too small...
nothing smaller than A2 in size...(the bigger the better)
Liquin or equivilant to dilute.
Non odour Terps and a cover for the table.
